Beehind the beehive
A Bee’s Love project promotes self-love and self-care to the LGBTQIA+ community through humorous bee-related puns. Each character in A Bee’s Love represents a strand of this community and visually mirrors the colors from the pride flags: soft, pastel and bumblebee colors fitting for these soft, humble and wholesome creatures, just like the people within the LGBTQIA+ communities.
The initial concept project began in late 2015 as bite-size webcomic stripes:

Starting in July 2020, the project will be developmenting further with a more serious discussion about LGBTQIA+ issues, as well as more developed stories and world building. The comic will engage in underlying conversations about discrimination against and within the LGBTQIA+ communities, mental health while promoting self-care/self-love, and will illuminate the diverse relationships that exist within this community.
A Bee’s Love: Cafe
This is a sub-project where it will be developed as a game. Players would be able to customize their bee avatar and run a small cafe that was left by the previous owners. While running the business, players would be interacting with many unique bees. Gradually, the players will be able to build relationships with many of their bees as they learn more about their stories by unlocking a page from the comic. This will also generate an interest if a player wants to read the comic.
